Francophone Worlds
Monthly Workshop Series
“Francophone Worlds” is a series of monthly workshops addressing cultural issues related to the diversity of francophone cultures. Each one hour-workshop consists of a presentation by a scholar on a special topic, then followed by a Q&A. This series engages with the histories of the French language and reflects on the hopes and challenges they raise today. The workshop is open to all levels of French and is conducted in English.
For its seventh session, “Francophone Worlds” will have the privilege of welcoming Catherine Reinhardt-Zacaïr, Professor of Foreign Languages at Fullerton College. She will be discussing her research on the French Caribbean through a presentation of her book Claims to Memory: Beyond Slavery and Emancipation in the French Caribbean (2006).
