Francophone Worlds

Monthly Workshop Series

“Francophone Worlds” is a series of monthly workshops addressing cultural issues related to the diversity of francophone cultures. Each one hour-workshop consists of a presentation by a scholar on a special topic, then followed by a Q&A.  This series engages with the histories of the French language and reflects on the hopes and challenges they raise today. The workshop is open to all levels of French and is conducted in English.

For its fifth session, “Francophone Worlds” will have the privilege of welcoming Virginie Duzer, Associate Professor and Chair of Romance Languages and Literatures at Pomona College, as well as Tiffany Mi, one of her former student. This session will be centered around their discovery and study of young women’s postcards from the Belle Époque. In the meantime, you are welcome to visit the website dedicated to this project at https://savoirsdesfemmes.omeka.net/presentation
