Four Scholars will present work on Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco at a one-day symposium featuring Lia Brozgal, Associate Professor of French and Francophone Studies, UCLA, on the October 17, 1961, massacre of Algerians in Paris; and Katarzyna Pierprzak, Professor of French, Williams College, on Moroccan “bidonvilles” (slums), with Virginie Rey (Affiliate Faculty of Anthropology, UCI) and Laura Klein (lecturer of French, UCI). Respondent Ian Coller, Associate Professor of History, UCI.
